B. Plastic materials, advantages: high production efficiency (can be completed by injection and extrusion); High light transmittance (about 93% when 3mm thick); Faults: Temperature must not exceed 80°(thermal deformation temperature 92 °).

B. Plastic materials, advantages: high production efficiency (can be completed by injection and extrusion); Light transmittance is slightly lower (about 89% when the thickness is 3mm); Faults: Temperature must not exceed 110°(thermal deformation temperature 135 °).

Optical glass material, advantages: high light transmittance (97%), high temperature resistance; Disadvantages: single shape, fragile, difficult to achieve mass production, low production efficiency, high cost. However, at present, very few domestic manufacturers have begun to develop glass molding process, using mold casting to produce glass lens, can produce various shapes, special surface lens.

In addition, mold production, good consistency, high precision, and can greatly improve the production efficiency, effectively reduce the cost of glass lens, coupled with the characteristics of high light transmittance, glass lens is bound to become the optical plastic type of high-power LED lens alternative products. However, the current high price of such production equipment, it is difficult to popularize in the short term. Besides glass from PMMA, PC material brittle faults, still needs more research and exploration, with the improved technology can now implement, only through a coating or steel processing to improve glass non-friable features, although through the processing, the light transmittance of glass lens will be reduced, but still could be far greater than ordinary optical plastic lens effect of pervious to light. So glass lenses will have a much wider future.
